Learning and Innovation at the HRPA Summit

At the Patrick Group of Companies, we understand that high-performing teams don’t come together by chance. Instead, they are built through intentional leadership, ongoing learning, and a deep commitment to people. That’s exactly why we were proud to have our Human Resources team attend the HRPA Summit in Toronto back in November, one of Canada’s leading events for HR professionals.

Representing the Patrick Group with Purpose

This year, our HR Manager Jessy Paz and HR Team Lead Karen Reyes joined professionals from across Ontario to dive into the evolving future of work. Not only did they represent the Patrick Group with pride, but they also brought back valuable insight to help us grow.

During the summit, they explored key topics such as:

  • Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI)
  • Mental health in the workplace
  • Advancements in HR technology and digital tools

Because they had access to cutting-edge ideas and conversations, our team returned energized and ready to drive real improvements across the organization.

Why Participating in the HRPA Summit Matters in Industrial Sectors

As an industrial contractor working across multiple sectors, we recognize that our greatest strength is our people. Therefore, we consistently invest in HR leadership in industrial companies to improve the way we support, engage, and empower our workforce.

By participating in the HRPA Summit, we are able to:

  • Stay ahead of industry-wide workforce trends
  • Enhance our internal culture and communication
  • Introduce forward-thinking HR practices that work across job sites and office environments

In short, when our HR leaders grow, the entire Patrick Group grows with them.

From Ideas to Action

Following the summit, our HR team didn’t waste time putting their knowledge into practice. For example, they began:

  • Improving onboarding to better support new hires
  • Updating internal resources for easier access and clarity
  • Exploring inclusive tools to ensure equity across teams

Because these updates touch every department, from trades to administration, they help create a more connected, respectful, and high-performing workplace.

Continuing the Journey of Growth

We’re especially grateful to Jodi Kovitz, CEO of HRPA, for her role in making the summit impactful. Thanks to her leadership, professionals across Ontario had the opportunity to learn, connect, and return home with ideas that matter.

Moving forward, our commitment remains clear. We will continue to invest in HR leadership in industrial companies because it strengthens our teams, supports our mission, and contributes to the long-term success of every project we take on.
